Finding a Balance

I have neglected my blog for quite some time now.  I've had an incredibly busy year and things got a little too hard to handle.  I had to take a break, re-evaluate my priorities, and make a game plan so that I wouldn't drive myself and Jeff crazy.

Here's the breakdown, I'm pregnant with my first baby girl! I've just entered my third trimester and still can't believe time has gone by so fast.  My sister in law was recently married and I was her matron of honor, Jeff was in the wedding party, and Ethan was the ring bearer.  I started working at a new school. Ethan turned 2 a week ago.  Oh, and I almost forgot, because all of this wasn't crazy enough we decided to take on potty training.  It's been a wild and crazy ride and at times I have no idea what day it is, but looking back, I have to admit I completely love it.  Luckily, I have an incredibly supportive family and husband that helps me through all of my crazy endeavors, and a little boy who puts me through more grief some days than a class of 32 seventh graders but he's funny, imaginative, and I love getting to know him more and more everyday.

So, what does the fact that I seem to be running myself ragged have to do with finding balance?  I've realized that I love being busy, I love doing things for those that I care about, and although it can be stressful it's all about making a plan and keeping what's really important in perspective.  I've realized that everything in my life doesn't have to be perfect but at the same time I can still enjoy going above and beyond  on certain projects.  In the end though, I've realized that  my family is the most important thing.  Through it all I have to enjoy the time we have together, especially my time with my kids.  I've been incredibly busy but I've also been enjoying the little moments.  I've been letting the dishes sit and drawing with Ethan; I've been going to bed an hour later so Jeff and I can just talk.  Of course, I'm a couple of months away from welcoming a new member to the family, so it's time to buckle up, I'm in for another awesome ride.
